  Arthur F. Kramer, PhD

Arthur F. Kramer, PhD, received his PhD in 1984 in cognitive/experimental psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Since that time he has worked on a variety of research topics in cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, aging, and human factors at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and elsewhere. He holds appointments in the Department of Psychology, the university Neuroscience Program, and the Beckman Institute for Advanced Sciences and Technology where he has served as Co-Chair for the Intelligent Human-Computer Interaction Main Research Theme since 1998. He is also Director of the Biomedical Imaging Center, and Co-Director of the NIH Center for Healthy Minds also at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Dr Kramer is a fellow of the American Psychological Association and the American Psychological Society, as well as a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for the Institute for the Study of Aging. He has authored or co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed articles, books, and book chapters, and has had numerous speaking engagements both in the United States and internationally. He served as Associate Editor of Perception & Psychophysics from 1993 to 1999 and is presently a member of 7 editorial boards.
