Linda Teri, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Psychosocial and Community Health at the University of Washington School of Nursing and Adjunct Professor in both the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Department of Psychology at the University of Washington, all in Seattle. She is also the founding director of the de Tornyay Center on Healthy Aging at the University of Washington School of Medicine and was the Director and Chief Psychologist of the Geriatric and Family Services Clinic at the University of Washington Medical Center for over 16 years.
Dr Teri received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Vermont and is a fellow of both the American Psychological Association and the Gerontological Society of America. She has authored or co-authored several books on depression and mental health in elderly patients and more than 270 articles, reviews, and abstracts.
Dr Teri has given more than 200 presentations and workshops, both nationally and internationally. She is on the editorial boards of the journals Aging and Mental Health and Dementia, and is a reviewer for several journals, including Neurology, Journal of Abnormal Psychology, American Journal of Geriatrics and Psychiatry, Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders, Journal of the American Geriatrics Society, and Gerontologist, among others.
