James A. Joseph, PhD, is the Lead Scientist and Director of the Neuroscience Laboratory at the United States Department of Agriculture Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr Joseph earned his doctorate in behavioral neuroscience from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. He is the author or co-author of over 200 articles and book chapters, and has co-authored the book The Color Code: A Revolutionary Eating Plan for Optimum Health. He is on the editorial board of several journals, including Experimental Gerontology, Aging Cell, Neurobiology of Aging, Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease, and Current Topics in Nutraceutical Research.

Dr Joseph has lectured nationally and internationally on the topics of nutrition and aging. He has received many awards, including the Glenn Award for Aging Research, the Harman Research Award, and, most recently, the International Award for Modern Nutrition.
