Eric M. Reiman, MD, is Scientific Director of the PET Center at the Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, Professor and Associate Head for Research and Development in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Arizona, and Clinical Director of the Neurogenomics Program at the Translational Genomics Research Institute, all in Phoenix, Arizona. He is also Director of the state-supported Arizona Alzheimer’s Research Center and the National Institutes of Health-sponsored Arizona Alzheimer’s Disease Core Center. Dr Reiman is the author of numerous publications, including articles in some of the leading medical, scientific, and specialty journals. His research interests include development and evaluation of brain imaging research methods, as well as the application of these methods to the study of normal and pathological behaviors, the unusually early detection and tracking of Alzheimer’s disease, and the discovery of treatments to halt the progression and prevent the onset of this disorder. Dr Reiman earned his MD from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
