Patrick A. Griffith, MD, FAAN, is Associate Professor of Clinical Psychiatry, Professor
of Clinical Medicine, and Chief of the Section of Neurology at the Morehouse School of
Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He is also Clinical Professor in the Department of Physical
Therapy at North Georgia College in Dahlonega, Georgia.
Dr Griffith received his MD from Howard University in Washington, DC. He also completed
his internship in medicine at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, and residencies at the
Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, the Children’s Hospital, and the Beth Israel Hospital in
Boston, Massachusetts. Dr Griffith is a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology.
Dr Griffith has written articles for Neurology, the Journal of the American Medical
Association, among others. His research has centered on examining the racial differences
in stroke victims and the utilization of different drugs to prevent strokes. Dr Griffith’s
interests include the study of Alzheimer’s disease and vascular disease in Black populations
of America.
